My name is Barbie Mc AssKICKER and I am a skater with Assassination City Roller Derby.
I want to like to invite you into the wonderful world of ROLLER DERBY!!
We are looking for women who love competitive sports!! Do you skate? Do you want to learn to skate? Come play!!
We have ref positions and volunteer positions available. Come on out to a practice to learn more!!
Roller Derby is on the up and coming list of exciting, competitive and truly raw scene for women of all kind… We are a league ran by women for women. Please take note of our practice times and location as well as the steps involved in becoming an Assassination City Roller Girl.
COMMITMENT
As mentioned above, ACRD is a league ran by women for women, in order to make this possible every member has to be actively involved in various duties. You will be required to attend 2-3 practices per week, volunteer at our events, after-parties, and special appearances and be an active member on a committee. But don’t let this scare you off… all of the women involved either work full time, go to school full time, have families and already have a busy schedule… we make it work… Communication is Key to Success… The added benefit… It is SOOOOO MUCH FUN!
LEAGUE INFO
Depending on your schedule the amount of time you would like to commit to derby we have several options!! ACRD offers inter-league play, Charter Travel Team-A, and Travel Team-B. After you assess, you will be placed on an inter-league team. If you choose to try out for a charter team, we have two options. Team A or Team B. We have a point system in place which helps to track eligibility for each team. You will receive information explaining the point system in your Fresh Meat packet.
LEAGUE PRACTICE DAYS/ TIMES
Sundays 5:30pm-7:30pm
Tuesdays (starting up May 12th- Time: TBD)
Wednesday 7:30pm-9:30pm
** Travel Team member are required to attend TT practice which follows immediately after league practice. All league members are encouraged to stay for the additional workout if they choose to do so.
BOUTS (GAME)
Bouts: 3rd Saturday of every month= doors open 7pm; whistle 7:30pm sharp!

How do I join?
First step, to becoming a member of Assassination City Roller Derby would be to come and watch a practice to observe. I would also recommend checking out one of our bouts.
At practice I will be able answer all your questions and get you set up with an application and all the documents that you will need to register. You will also be provided with a list of equipment you will be responsible for purchasing prior to skating. (**see below for approximate start up costs)
* Each skater is required to submit a copy of their primary insurance plan. If you do not have one, we can refer you to an agent that specializes in inexpensive individual plans.
Second step; now that you have watched a practice, purchased your equipment, completed the paperwork, provided all documentation requested and paid your dues** you are ready to become Fresh Meat!!
Fresh Meat is a term used in derby to identify new skaters. You will be required to wear a white shirt with the words= “FM your name” on the back of your shirt. This will identify you to all members in the league as a new skater that has not assessed. This will be explained in the paperwork we give you.

Secondary Insurance Fee – required by league $40.00
First month’s dues- $35.00
Skates ($99-$600.00) ask for FM recommendation
Pads- ($30.00 set- on up to $60 for just knee pads)- ask for help
Helmet ($30- $75)
Entire EQUIPMENT, INSURANCE FEE, AND FIRST MONTH’S LEAGUE FEE IS DUE BEFORE A SKATER MAY PARTICIPATE.
Don’t be afraid to ask for loaners… a lot of skaters have extras and are willing to help a sister out!!
